La libération de l'Autriche par l'Armée Rouge a duré du 16 mars au 14 avril 1945 et a coûté la vie à 16 130 soldats soviétiques et a fait 57 402 blessés parmi les troupes de l’URSS.

A l’époque l’Union Soviétique a également livré à l'Autriche (en tonnes) :

• Sucre - 2 700
• Sel - 2 529
• Сafé – 230
